The 26″ is fine — so why did they remove the headphone jack on the 29″?, June 20, 2013

First bought the 26″, and it is quite good for all the reasons stated by others. The stand is flimsy, but that’s understandable in this price range.
But then ordered the 29″, which in theory is the same TV except for the screen size—and indeed it appears to be BUT open the package and find that it has no headphone jack. WEIRD. (Returned it on that account.)
It is so common for people to plug computer speakers into these TVs, especially given how notoriously poor their internal speakers are… why would LG include the jack on the 26″ but not on the 29″?

Good Bargain for the Price, June 2, 2013

It’s perfect for the bedroom, if you don’t have to attach many components. The tiny speakers are, in a word, awful, but there are two ways to attach a sound system. I purchased a very inexpensive pair of computer speakers ($20.00), and connected them via the headphone input. The difference is sound quality was dramatic. You will have to go into the menu and change the sound setting to “Headphones.” There are inputs in the back if you want something more sophisticated. What can I say? Good bang for the buck!
