Took a shot in the dark and it paid off!,
First off, if you’re contemplating on this television because of the brand name, so was I at first. I looked at this tv for about a week before I decided to go through with the purchase, I personally had never heard of the brand Hiteker. And with only being able to see roughly three televisions available from them I was leery about it. I figured “Why the hell not, Amazon has a 30 day return policy if something happens.”
This television has left a BIG impression on me. NOTE: I purchased this tv for use in my bedroom (typical usage, little bit of tv before bed, occasional movie, etc). This tv not only hit all my check marks of having the features I needed (3 HDMI ports, at least 32″ and 1080p resolution) but has been able to hold it’s own compared to other larger LCD tv’s in my house (LG and Samsung). Light weight for the size, simple setup took less than 3 minutes to have it hooked up to my cable box and was watching tv. I mean you honestly can’t beat a tv that is fairly well built for such a *low price. (* The price of purchase was close to around $240 but I had a $50 Amazon gift card so got it for cheaper plus I purchased a 3 years warranty for $20. I mean you can’t beat a tv with features like this for $200 or less, specially the size.)
Pros:
– Perfect for a bedroom television (honestly couldn’t see this being used as a main tv, but also I’ve had 47″+ in my living room for over 5+ years now)
– 3 HDMI ports, most tv’s (I know LG specially) of this size and price only have 2 HDMI if you’re lucky (for me cable box, Roku, and x360 when in the bedroom)
– Shipped and received two days from order (directly from Amazon so return policy played a factor for me)
– Was able to get the tv and 3 year warranty for $200! (see above paragraph)
Cons:
– No wifi / apps (for some this is a big selling point, but for my case I bought the Roku for Netflix, Amazon video, etc and it is honestly the better option in terms of price. $200 tv + $100 Roku = $300 tv you will NOT get from any big name for that price)
– Speakers are not the best (if you play with the audio options and turn on the Surround Sound options it GREATLY improves audio immensely)
– Most brands put their name on the product, apparently not with Hiteker. If it wasn’t for the manual I honestly couldn’t tell you the brand name.
– Remote is made from SUPER cheap plastic (but doesn’t really matter to me since the TWC remote will be used mainly with the tv programmed)
NOTE: This is a review for only having a product the first few days. I will post if any issues show themselves in time but in the meantime this is a GREAT bedroom television. Paying for a name doesn’t always been it’s always a great product!
