No better deal at this price point,
I have been shopping for a 32″ LCD for quite some time now and was surprised to find an LED 1080p for what I expected to pay for a 720p LCD (Under $300). Unit arrived in standard packaging with two-pieces for the stand (assembly requires 2 minutes and a Phillips screwdriver) a rather cheap remote, two AAA batteries (that were crushed into uselessness), and the display. Once assembled, the unit is more pleasing to the eye than the photos seem to show. The Energy Star label on the screen is frustratingly hard to remove – I feared I might damage the unit, but I finally was able to lift a corner and slowly peel it off. AV connections feel flimsy during cabling. Connections should hold up fine during setup, but I doubt they could withstand constant removal and reinsertion. I tested this unit with a blu-ray copy of Avatar – picture quality was superb, with vibrant color reproduction and standard 60hz motion performance. Sound through the on-board speakers leaves much to be desired – audio is very high treble and there is a low “buzz” during mute. This TV is being used as a secondary display in the Master bedroom, therefore audio quality is not a large consideration. In total, this is a decent unit for what it is – the best 32″ display available at this price point. ($279)
