Let me say from the outset we are not audiophiles or videophiles in this household. Those days were many years ago when we were first out of college and wanted to blow the roof off the house or apartment. We stay home most of the time because we have a special needs young man in the house and we wanted to find a tv with a good number of features at a reasonable price. We did a lot of research and visited the AVS forum for advice. In the end for the features and the price we decided on this set and are not disappointed.

This is a very easy tv to set up. We were connected to our wireless router in a few minutes. We are having a bit of difficulty getting the Media Connect to work. Philips has a file you have to download from another site and it has been down today. We used the advice from AVS to get color and brightness settings and this tv has as good a picture as sets twice the price. We have watched hockey and basketball thus far and it has been great. Looking forward to the Super Bowl on Sunday. Go Pack Go!

A number of internet features we like, VUDU and Netflix in particular. Our son really likes the Pandora internet radio feature. We still have a lot to explore. The set has four speakers and the sound has been a pleasant surprise. We were anticipating having to buy a soundbar but for now the set alone seems fine. We may change that opinion after watching a few movies but we are satisfied for now.

In short, you will not be disappointed with this set. Brilliant color and a great picture.

A minor edit regarding the MediaConnect feature. Older laptops may not work. Hope this helps.

My laptop is only 1.6GHz on an Intel Pentium so it will not work. The other laptop in the house is 1.8GHz and it tries to open the program but can’t. Looks like we will be shopping for a new laptop soon.

Great product, great price, March 5, 2011

I was really happy with the purchase. For $1099, it was a great deal, free shipping, and no tax (that’s a benefit for us Texans!) The TV was extremely easy to set up and it looks great in bright sun and dark. Go get it – you’ll be happy!
