A week after unveiling the newest version of its popular Web browser, Firefox 4, Mozilla has released an updated version of Firefox 4 for the Android mobile operating system.
Firefox 4 for Android, which is available for download now at the Android Market, offers a more streamlined interface that can hide tabs, bookmarking, and browser controls when you don’t need them. And Mozilla claims its mobile browser is up to three times faster than the stock browser built into Android devices.
Also included in Firefox 4 for Android is Firefox Sync, which lets you sync your browsing history, bookmarks, passwords, and even open tabs, across multiple devices. This means that you can continue exactly what you were doing with your PC’s Firefox 4 on your phone, and vice versa.
More features include:
- One-tap sharing of links and images with social networks;
- The Awesome Screen, which lets you type in less information to find what you’re looking for by drawing on your history, bookmarks, and so on;
- Personalization options for the look of the browser;
- Mobile add-ons;
- Tabbed browsing;
- And one-touch bookmarking.
You can find a full list of features at Mozilla’s site. And make sure your Android device is supported for Firefox 4 before you download.
