    I bought the Mitsubishi 73″ in June 2006, had it for a year with AWESOME results. Sold my house and the guy who bought it loved the TV so much that he wanted to buy it with the house. Bought a new house and bought the latest 73″ mitsu available (73734), and I’ve had it now for about 3 months….better than ever. I’ve had about 5 friends buy the same TV after seeing how awesome this set is. You feel like you’re at the game with this awesome tv. I never take the time to write reviews….but this TV is worth it. For under $3k…..best tv for the money.

    So far so good. I purchased this set 2 weeks ago for $2,900. I have it plugged into a TimeWarner HD Cablebox and a Sony BlueRay HD-DVD player. The set quality with HD is excellent. Very little if any artifacting. Football on CBS HD is incrdible. Hardly notice any bluring during the action. All digital channels are in 720 are very good relative to my Hitachi 52″ rear.

    It fits perfectly into a cubby built into our family room so I didn’t need a flat screen and at 73″ it gives a picture you can actually watch from 20 feet away.

    Many have complained about fan noise and the lamp going out. I cannot detect the hint of any fan and time will tell as to how the lamp holds up.

    The BlueRay is razor sharp.

    The one complaint I have is the programming the remote. I’m not sure Mitsubishi could have made this more difficult. The use of the digital IR cable and lining it up to the IR on each device is silly. I’ve resorted to using my digital cablebox remote as my universal and gave up on the TV remote.

    That aside, the picture you get for the dollar is beyond compare.

    Item was shipped sooner than was promised. Delivery men were very helpful and cooperative. Television works very well, no problems and we are very satisfied. We also ordered the stand …the earthquake strap did not come in the package, but we contacted customer relations and it is being shipped to us separately. We expect to get it with the same service.

    power center failed after one day. I understand this is not an uncommon problem. To Amazon’s credit, they offered a full refund and paid for return shipping. I ordered a replacement from another source, as Amazon could not ship another for 4-6 weeks. The replacement WD-73734 just arrived. Again, great picture with no distracting electronic hum as mentioned in other posts. I found the manual hard to follow when attempting to integrate an AVR receiver, and one HDMI “auto-sense” port did not “auto-sense” the HDMI input. I also noted picture alignment problems resulting in a minor barreling of the image. Not enough to require a service call or return the unit, but enough to question Mitsubishi’s quality control. Other posts have mentioned less than optimal experiences with Mitsubishi customer support, so I won’t even attempt to call them.

    If you want a beautiful high definition television, this is it. However, I am keeping my fingers crossed…

    I have had this TV for about a month now, and I am still in awe! It’s like having your own movie theater at home. The pictures on regular stations do sometimes seem a little pixil-ated, but the HD stations and Bluray movies are just incredible. I read some negative reviews about the fans being noisy, but I have never heard them. I also read about problems with the bulb going and having to wait 3-4 months for replacement, so I hope that doesnt become an issue. Overall, though, I think it was worth every penny. They even brought it upstairs, and took all the packaging with them so I didnt even have to unpack it. Everyone that sees it is in awe of the size and picture. My kids bring friends over just to show them.

    I purchased this TV and had it delivered in time for the Olympics. My cable company actually seems to have broadcast NBC’s HD channels with out over compressing them and the pictures are awesome. Please note that this is my first 1080p TV so I may be a bit too easy to impress. I have a Panasonic TH-42PX60U 42-Inch Plasma HDTV as well but they are not even in the same class.

    I have a PS3 as well that I use as a Blu-Ray player. This is why I will never have to go to the movie theater again. The movies are stunning. Sitting at 9 feet (3 meters) from the set all your field of vision is filled without having to move your head.

    Out of the box this TV was easy to use and operate. I do, however, recommend reading the manual as there are several features that you may not know exist if you do not.

    In choosing this TV I had trouble finding reviews. This is because Mitsubishi seems to release a new model every year or less. I recommend looking at some of the prior models reviews. Here are a few I used (if the links still work):

    * Mitsubishi Diamond Series WD-73833 – 73″ rear projection TV ( DLP ) – 120Hz – widescreen – 1080p (FullHD) – HDTV

    * Mitsubishi WD-73735 73-Inch 1080p DLP HDTV

    Just bought the WD-73835 from OneCall. Got best price and free shipping as noted on the Amazon site. This is an incredible television. I upgraded from my prior set an HP 6580N DLP and the difference in size (25% larger than a 65″ set), sharpness, color and brightness is remarkable. The colors are a little off out-of-the-box so the set is best tuned either with an ISF Calibration or for an experienced user with one of the varous tv tuning DVDs that are available.

    You will NOT regret this purchase and OneCall’s service is outstanding as well!

    I actually got this TV as a NO CHARGE upgrade from Walt’s TV. Ordered a WD-73733 and got this one instead. What a deal. Replaced a 7 year old Mitsubishi WS-65908 that had the module go out and couldn’t find a replacement. The HD programing on this TV blows away the WS-65908 (didn’t have an HDMI input…what a difference). Costco has a 65″ Sharp LCD that looked pretty good but I couldn’t justify paying an extra $2K. Plasmas at this size are cost prohibitive. Read on other posts something about a “rainbow effect” – what rainbow? All I see is a clear, sharp, awesome picture. Relatives that have come over and seen it rave about the picture. If you have the room, you can’t go wrong with this TV.
