I think I spent about 5 hours in Best Buy’s Magnolia room looking at LCD/LED/Plasma televisions. I was just blown away at how crisp and sharp the images on this model were compared to others. They had this one set up right next to the new Samsung 55 inch LED playing Transformers 2 on both. I think what blew my mind was how good the built in speakers sounded with an external subwoofer. I’ve always had a Bose Cinemate system that i was happy with. But I purchased a Polk Audio wireless subwoofer and just sat in awe listening to every little thing in the movies.

This television has really nice blacks and contrast. I’ve always hated dark movies where you can’t see much. This television does an amazing job with the shading. You can see lighter shades of black and into the shadows. lol. i was very happy. it still keeps very dark blacks at the same time if that makes sense.

I purchased a vudu box and downloaded the HDX movies and have saved money on buying blu ray player and discs. the vudu movies are just amazingly sweet on this television screen.

I’m not an expert with home theaters or televisions. I just love the quality of images on this tv. And yes, I purchased everything on Amazon and not at Best Buy. I got a much better deal here as usual. Best Buy wouldn’t price match Amazon.

As usual, I spent an extraordinary amount of time researching the latest in large flat screen LCD televisions – the Mitsubishi LT-52249 seemed to have the most going for it, especially with the multitude of small speakers across the front – the wireless sub-woofer was also an attraction since I did not want to pop for a surround system at this time – even though the speaker system has a built in electronic sound focus system it doesn’t seem to do much – the picture quality is just “OK” – certainly not up to the sharpness I had expected – at times the picture seems to be immersed in fog – I have fiddled with the manual picture tuning procedures but it still is not up to the quality one would expect from the elevated purchase price or the specs that are advertised – I was wooed away from Sony products which was a mistake in this case – Sony has always produced the picture quality I like but their speaker system is usually weak at best – I would not recommend this Mitsubishi for a high end LCD television

Bought this TV about 3 weeks ago and it is great. I was hesitant at first as there were very few reviews out there. At the time I was leaning towards the 55″ Samsung although I thought that was bigger than I needed. Then I saw this TV and fell in love. Sound was great and the plus was that I didn’t have to purchase a sound bar or speaker system. I received a great deal from a new TV store where I live: it came with a free wireless Polk subwoofer and a free Panasonic BlueRay player. Also free was delivery and set up for the new TV and haul away of my old TV (50″ Hitachi projection TV). I think the picture is as good as the Samsung I was looking at (perhaps the same manufacturer makes the LCD component for both TVs?). The only difficulty I have is with my cable remote: I haven’t figured out how to go from DVD to TV without using my Mitsubishi remote. Other than that, I love this TV, both for sound and picture. I have also received comments from friends and family how they like the nice small, compact edge/border on this TV. One other thing, this TV didn’t come with straps as some of my friends’ TVs have. Still trying to decide if it is necessary. I think it is with grandkids and animals. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
