As nice a set as you could ask for at a low price point from the # 1 HDTV Manufacturer,
Of the many hundreds if not thousands of HDTV units, both big brand name and ‘generic’, this LG 42PT350 was 1 of only 8 models tested by Consumer’s Reports out of all sizes, all prices and all formats which the magazine chose not just to praise but to actually recommend for purchase. I ordered this unit largely on the strength of that review and this set did not disappoint. The fit and finish are outstanding as are the “thin frame” edging, which really are so thin they virtually disappear. Don’t worry about the 720 aspect of this set as it presents beautifully. I went against the majority and purchased a plasma set to assure that the near 180 degree seating around the set would be visible to all and I am so glad I did.
A ‘beginner’s set’ in price only as the features it provides for self-tuning the image staging compare favorably to professional screen staging if you are methodical. Go buy it!

LG 50PT350,
Shipping was very fast, ordered on a Sunday received on following Friday with standard shipping. The picture quality is fantastic although whites could be a little better. The real drawback is the stand ,the stand is is horrific its very wobbly and doesn’t support the unit hardly at all, I wall mounted this TV the following day but wanted to test it for a night before going through the trouble, I was afraid it was going to fall over.
Menus are easily navigated
Factory setting have too much Green and Red
Sound is decent
Once set up picture is outstanding
I bought this for $645 on Amazon with free super saving shipping

Want an awesome, pretty big television for an amazing price? Don’t look anything further – it’s here.
I was a little worried at first about getting a television online. I couldn’t see what it looked like, I couldn’t find the same model in stores, and I worried it wouldn’t fit right in my living room. Well, based on the good reviews I read on here, I decided to give it a shot.
This television, quite simply, is a STEAL for the price. Initially, I was really wanting an LCD because of the energy it saves, but a plasma is more bang for your buck. If you like to watch sports or play games (things with a lot of motion), a plasma can give you that for a much cheaper price. You’ll have to pay quite a bit more for an LCD tv with comparable elimination of motion blur.
PROS
1. Easy to install – I’m a little girl who isn’t great at handiwork, and I was able to put it together in about ten minutes with a screwdriver.
2. Slim, sleek fame – It truly is a SLIM frame. It is sleek, elegant, and looks like a really classy television set.
3. Elimination of motion blur – Forget 1200Hz for refresh rate. The 600Hz is plenty on this tv…I am a hardcore gamer and football fanatic, and I don’t see any motion blur at all. That was one of my main concerns when looking for a television, so maybe this will help you out to know.
4. Sharp, vibrant colors – If you were at retail store with a ton of televisions, this is one of those where you’d point at it and say, “Wow! That one is awesome.” It’s just perfect.
5. It’s BIG!! – Well, if you’re very familiar with television sizes, this doesn’t mean anything to you. But if it does, I live in an 800 square foot 1 bedroom apartment with a regular sized living room, and this television looks HUGE. I was actually thinking maybe 50 inch before I bought this, but this is the perfect size!
CONS
The cons are generally the same with all plasmas. It doesn’t look good in light, takes up too much energy, etc. There is an energy saver option for this tv, but honestly – the picture just doesn’t look good when it’s on. If I’m watching tv, I want the quality to be the best! Didn’t notice too much of an increase in my electricity bill though. This set also gets really dusty like other televisions, and you have to dust it like…twice a day.
My boyfriend is also EXTREMELY picky about televisions and is a HUGE sports freak. He was very leery about me getting this online, but now is in love with it. He watches sports all of the time and has never had one single complaint (and trust me, that says a lot!)
SO – if you are looking for an excellent, large television with sharp picture and virtual elimination of motion blur for a great price, get this tv!
