This review is from: Panasonic TC-60PU54 60-inch 600 Hz Plasma 1080p HDTV (Electronics)

I waited quite a while before getting a HDTV; I am glad I waited. I purchased one in December 2012 and have allowed a ‘break-in period’. I ordered a Disney “World of Wonder” Blu-Ray calibration disc from Amazon and completed the fine-tuning of the factory settings last week. Out-of-the-box the picture was sharp and vivid; the calibration disc improved that, and it was about $13 when I ordered it!
These are the settings I found for my Plasma TV in a average light room From the Menu screen, go to Picture.
On the Picture Menu, highlight “Cinema”: make your adjustments based on this color profile.

    Contrast +83
    Brightness +63
    Color +53
    Tint +0
    Sharpness +39
    Color Temp NORMAL
    Management OFF
    CATS OFF
    Video NR WEAK
Aspect Ratio FULL / SIZE 2

This looks better than it did in the store and reducing these factory setting to the ones I have provided here should prolong the life of your screen. Also, on the Panasonic, I have set the Anti-Image retention setting to ON and the Scrolling Bar test (for a plasma). I run that 15 minute test every two weeks.
